1. Introduction

The Gidinwewininaan Foundation (“Foundation,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) respects your privacy and is committed to protecting information associated with your use of the Gidinwewininaan App (“App”).

The App provides access to Anishinaabemowin (Ojibwe language) learning materials, educational activities, and cultural resources.

Our goal is to make language learning accessible to individuals and families of all ages while limiting the collection of personal information.

This Privacy Policy explains what information the App collects, how it is used, and how users can manage their information.

2. Information We Collect

The Gidinwewininaan App does not require users to create an account or provide their name, email address, or other personal identifying information to access its educational content.

Wix may process technical information, cookies, identifiers, and usage information in connection with these services.

Users can review Wix’s privacy practices through its official Privacy Policy:

https://www.wix.com/about/privacy

The Foundation does not authorize third-party service providers to use learning progress information for independent advertising purposes.

The Gidinwewininaan App is intended for learners of all ages, including children and families.

The Foundation recognizes the importance of protecting children’s personal information.

Users are not required to create accounts or provide names, email addresses, or other personal identifying information to participate in learning activities.

We seek to minimize the collection of information from children and use information only as necessary to provide educational features, maintain security, and improve App functionality.

We do not knowingly use children’s personal information for targeted advertising.

Parents or guardians may contact the Foundation with questions or concerns regarding their child’s information.

If we discover that personal information has been collected from a child in violation of applicable requirements, we will take appropriate steps to address the issue, including deletion when necessary.

The Foundation takes reasonable measures to protect information processed through the App.

These measures include using appropriate technical and organizational safeguards and limiting access to information when necessary.

Although reasonable precautions are taken, no electronic system can guarantee absolute security.

8. Data Retention and Deletion

Learning progress and analytics information are retained only as necessary to support App functionality, improve educational resources, maintain security, or comply with applicable requirements.

Users may request information about the data associated with their use of the App or request deletion of information that can reasonably be identified and associated with them.

Wix services may use cookies or similar technologies to maintain functionality, support security, and measure usage.

Where required by applicable law, users will be provided with appropriate information and choices regarding nonessential cookies or tracking technologies.

Users may also be able to manage cookies through their browser or device settings.

10. Cultural and Educational Resources

The Gidinwewininaan Foundation is committed to respecting Anishinaabe language, culture, knowledge, and educational traditions.

Language recordings, educational materials, and cultural resources provided through the App are intended to support learning and the continued use of Anishinaabemowin.

The Foundation seeks to respect the contributions, permissions, and cultural responsibilities associated with these resources.

The App may provide links to educational websites, language resources, and other external services.

The Foundation is not responsible for the privacy practices of independently operated websites or services.

Users are encouraged to review the privacy policies of external resources they access.
